What GAO Found In May 2025, GAO identified nine priority recommendations for the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Since then, HUD has not implemented these recommendations. In June 2026, GAO identified an additional two priority recommendations and removed the priority designation from one recommendation, bringing the total to 10. What GAO Found In May 2025, GAO identified 17 priority recommendations for the Small Business Administration (SBA). Since then, SBA has implemented three of those recommendations, bringing the total to 14. National Credit Union Administration | Rule | The NCUA Board is adopting an interim final rule to clarify federal credit unions' (FCUs) power to charge non-interest charges and fees includes the power to assess, collect, impose, levy, receive, reserve, take, or otherwise obtain non-interest charges and fees, including interchange fees from credit and debit card operations. Further, the interim final rule explains that FCUs may charge non- interest charges or fees, even when such charges and fees are set by or in consultation with third parties. What GAO Found In August 2025, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)’s largest immigration detention facility to date (known as Camp East Montana) opened on U.S. Army Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. GAO found that the Army—which awarded and administered the $1.3 billion facility contract—and ICE expedited the award and construction schedule for the facility.
